Emily Evans
Facilitator
I am a mom of two little girls, a qualified primary school teacher, with an honours in Psychology, and a play therapist in training. My love for working with children has been apparent ever since I can remember. My eight years of teaching, including teaching in Thailand, have taught me so much about children as well as myself. The thing I loved most about teaching was helping a child realise their full potential. Often, that would involve helping them build resilience, self-esteem and confidence. The moments I spent casually talking to my learners, outside of class time, making them feel heard was where I saw the magic happen. My aim was to always try and connect to each learner to make them feel seen and loved.
In addition to teaching, I’ve had the privilege of facilitating groups of children with a focus on nurturing their social and emotional wellbeing. It was during this time that I discovered what truly matters to me — supporting the heart of the child. My personal and professional experiences with children have deepened my understanding of these little beings. I believe that true growth happens through meaningful connections, creativity, and the freedom to play.
I am incredibly excited to be part of the Heart Matters team where I will be able to support and facilitate children on their own unique social and emotional journeys.
